Our Lodge
Since 2005 Petersham Lodge has met in Guildford, at Weybourne House, also known as the
South West Surrey Masonic Centre. The new build saw the creation of a purpose built Temple, bar and dining areas as well as sub-temples and rehearsal spaces, dedicated car park and a vbeautiful terrace on the banks of the River Wey.
The original Weybourne House was built in 1897 and was sat directly on the Portsmouth Road, being used as a Roman Catholic girls’ school and later, in 1937, becoming Weybourne School and Children’s Guest House. The building was purchased for Masonic purposes in 1948, and gave Guildford Masons a central meeting point, previously having to meet in local hotels, inns, halls and restaurants, which were not fully fit for purpose. Among these were the Lion Hotel, Angel Hotel, Castle Inn, the Borough Halls, Holy Trinity Hall, Ward Street Hall, Constitutional Hall, Brett’s and Abbot’s Kitchen restaurant, most of which no longer exist.
After the move to the new building in 2005, the old Weybourne Hosue was converted into masionettes,
now known as Willow Reach.
